With the release of the God of War Saga, Sony has collected five games from one of their biggest franchises into one $40 package. In this you will find?God of War and God of War 2 from the PS2, God of War: Chains Of Olympus and God of War: Ghost Of Sparta for the PSP, with God of War 3 on the PS3 rounding?out Kratos? quest for revenge.
What I Liked
Every Single Game Within The Collection
From God of War 1 all the way through until God of War 3,?this collection represents some of the finest 3rd person action you can find. Each game is filled with intense combat?thanks to the?blades attached to Kratos? arms, the various magical attacks you learn along the way, and very interesting enemies you?ll face.
One huge plus of this collection is that you are able to play every single game in chronological order, starting with God of War: Chains Of Olympus and ending with my personal favourite in the series, God of War 3.?By doing this, you are able to watch Kratos become more vengeful with each release, and in the case of Ghost of Sparta, you are given a ton of backstory?regarding Kratos? brother, mother, and daughter.
As helpful as the chronological order is, the biggest draw is just how big these games are in scale and how many memorable moments they are filled with. Whether it is fighting a Hydra aboard your ship, travelling through Hades to come back to life, fighting with the all-powerful Zeus, ripping enemies in half, bringing a raging Cyclops down, or?even getting a first person view of Kratos?killing a God, this series is jam-packed with?highly memorable moments. And love them or hate them, God of War started the quick-time-event?revolution.

5 Games For Just $40
Though some people might be a little angry over the fact that the price tag on this collection is $40, when the God of War Origins Collection retailed for that price just last year, it doesn?t stop this from being an amazing value. You end up paying just $8 per game, giving you a ton of bang for your buck. While some could argue that The Orange Box is the best?bundle?in gaming right now, the God of War Saga comfortably sits right behind it.
What I Didn?t Like
God of War Origins Collection Is A Download
Nearly everything about this release is perfect, except when you see that the God of War Origins Collection is available only as a download. This decision was likely to keep the manufacturing costs down, but?the games?take up over 17GB on your PS3 and?you are forced to wait for them to download before playing the PSP adventures.
Comparison
Better Than: The Infamous Collection
Retailing for the same price, the God of War Saga outclasses the?Infamous Collection based on the amount of titles to play through and overall fun factor. Where the Infamous Collection?only included?two full games and one downloadable episode that do have some issues, the God?of War Saga features five full games that are all enjoyable from the very beginning to the very end.

Final Word
The teams at Sony Santa Monica and Ready At Dawn Studios have created and nurtures?one of the best franchises of all time with God of War, with?this collection?acting as?an anthology of all the years of hard work. Although I didn?t like the fact that the God of War Origins Collection is a download, the quality of every single game outweighs that negative. If you?ve never played any of these games, you absolutely have to buy this.
